FACILITY AVAILABLE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ENT:

The Department of ENT at GMC Ambikapur provides the highest standard of healthcare in this region of Chhattisgarh. The faculty, resident, and other staff are committed to providing a variety of services and management for diseases of the nose, throat, and ears: diagnosis and treatment.

Microscopic ear surgery to treat infections and restore hearing. Nasal polyps, nasal blockage, and sinusitis can all be treated with endoscopic nasal operations. Dacryocystorhinostomy(DCR). Microlaryngeal Surgery (MLS) for vocal cord pathology. Assessments and treatment for speech and voice examinations of hearing and fitting for assistive technology . Pediatric ENT treatment for ailments of the ears, nose, and throat. 

The Department of ENT offers the following services:

1. Audiological Evaluation:

• Pure Tone Audiometry
• OAE
• Impedance Audiometry
• BERA

(Audiology department Best in Chhattisgarh (collaboration with AIISH, NPPCD, DEIC) Services All types of audiometry (Speech therapy)

2. Speech

• Speech Assessment
• Speech Therapy

3. ENT facility in RSDKS, GMC hospital Ambikapur

• OPD runs in OPD block rooms no. 1&2.
• Total number of patients benefitted in OPD >100/day (OPD patients)
• Total number of audiology tests: >25/day
• Indoor 30 bed available in ENT Ward.

4. Special clinic

• Vertigo Clinic
• Cochlear Implant Screening 
• Cancer Clinic

5. OPERATIONS Facility available

MINOR-Syringing, Foreign Body removal, Antral wash, Nasal endoscopy, otoscopy, Endoscopic Laryngoscopy-One minor OT exists in OPD. Work 7 days a week. (>20 cases/day)

Major Surgeries:-Tympanoplasty, Myringotomy, Mastoidectomy, FESS, Septoplasty, Nasal bone reduction, Rhinoplasty, Endoscopic DCR, Thyroidectomy, Tonsillectomy, Adenoidectomy, Parotidectomy, gland excision Foreign Body Aero-digestive Tract / Tracheo-Bronchial Tract, Facial and Mandible bone surgery. & other head and neck surgeries.

-One major OT that functions thrice a week. (Monday, Thursday & Saturday)

6. Course Offered: Teaching roster is followed as per NMC guideline for teaching MBBS and Post graduate(M.S.) students about different aspects of Ear, Nose and Throat diseases. Per Year 03 seats for Post Graduate(M.S.) 

7. Community Outreach Programs: Participation in Handicap camps, camps held in rural areas.

1. A retrospective analysis of 137 chronic dacryocystitis cases treated with endonasal endoscopic approach to dacryocystorhinostomy with or without silicon stent.

2. Analysis of nasal airway resistance in normal healthy adult population of Chhattisgarh by Rhinomanometry.

3. Prevalence of ear nose & throat morbidity in students of middle and higher secondary school in Suruga.

4. Study of surgical management of chronic sinusitis by middle meatus antrostomy & Antral Wash out Procedure.
