About Department:
 
 The Department of General Surgery at the GMC, Ambikapur was established in 2016. Since then eminent Surgeon has glorified this Dept. with their contribution in clinical innovation and research. Today Dept. stands good in arena patient care academic training and research activity. Presently the Dept. provides excellent patient care service and perform various sophisticated Surgical procedure.
 
 Facilities Available in Department:
 Department of Surgery has 100 indoor beds, 20 beds burn unit & 10 beds value Surgical ICU. At present dept. of Surgery the sactioned posts are teaching 01 Prof., 03Assoc. Prof. 04 Asst. Prof., 04 S.R. & 10 J.R.
 
 A. Patient Care Services : The Dept. is dedicated from clinical services and training of Junior and Senior Resident. Surgery of the head & neck, hepato-billiary and pancreatic Surgery and vascular, Hernia and Endocrine Surgeries are routinely perform. Laparoscopic Surgery both basic and Advance is routinely done and Dept. has setup for training basic Laparoscopic Surgery with facility of An endotrainer Laboratory for hands on expertise in Basic Laparoscopic skills.
 
 The Dept. of Surgery has 04 Operation Theater and Emergency O.T. or routine and emergency services. Surgery OPD consist of 06 examination room,01 Minor O.T. in minor cases , 01Endoscopy room for endoscopic Surgeries and Colnoscopy, 01 separate stone clinic equip with Lithotripsy. 01 Demonstration room, 01 dressing room.
 
 B. Departmental Library : The surgery Department has its own departmental library in administrative block in the college building having more then 200 books & various national & international Journals with computer internet service.

 1. Harmonic Scalpel with open and laparoscopic probes.

 3. Portable ultra sound machine in the ward & operation theatre greatly Benefits various Surgery.
 4. Two Laparoscopic Surgery set for performing basics & advance laparoscopic Surgery.
 5. Image intensifier (C-arm).
 6. DGHAL Set.
 7. TURP Set.
 8. Lithotripsy (Sonography Guided lithotripsy machine helps equipment of Renal and Pancreatic Stone)
 9. Endo trainer laboratory to expertise in Basic Laparoscopic skills.
